Purpose

The overall goal of this project is to get WVU Parkersburg freshman students thinking about their future, particularly their careers. This is going to be accomplished through personality assessment, reflection, exploration, and simulation. The project itself is tied directly to the student’s Individual Career Plan Portfolio which is developed further in the remainder of this course. This project will be broken down into mini projects or assignments, all contributing to the student’s Individual Career Plan Portfolio. The assignments will be designed around the overall goal of focusing the student on their future while integrating computer technology standards.

Grades

Completion of the individual and Learning Team assignments are presented in your SDEV101 course syllabus, so they will have due dates. Students will be afforded the opportunity to submit completed assignments prior to the portfolio due date, and their grades will be recorded but not final. Progress reports will show only grades for assignments submitted for grading at the time. This will vary from student to student. These resubmission will be graded, and replace their previous grade. Please refer back to your course syllabus for makeup work requirements. This format will encourage the students to put their best work in their portfolio for a final grade.
